Settings
If your financial system generates a payment file in Jyske Online Banking Business format, you must make a few fixed settings in order to make your payment file readable for Jyske Online Banking Business. In addition to the payment file, you also need a number of definition files. These files must be generated by your financial system and will typically be stored in the same folder as your payment file. The definition files are typically identifiable by the file type ".def".
- The required fixed settings can be made under "Import/Export file" > "Settings - Old".
- Click on the headline "Import file". You will now see the standard fields required for you to set up your initial import.
- Tick off the field "I use Jyske Online Banking Business format or Jyske Bank Totalbetaling format".
- Select the date format that matches the dates in your payment file. ”s” represents a separator, which may be a full stop, hyphen or another character used to separate the digits of the date. If you open the file in the Notepad programme (or another text programme), you will see the date featured on every line. For instance, if it reads "2023-08-04", you must select the following date format in Jyske Online Banking Business: "YYYYsMMsDD".
- Now select ”Decimals”. This will inform the system whether you use 2 or 4 decimals for amounts stated in your payment file.
- In "Path and name of definition files", state the definition files for the types of payment that you want to use in your payment files. Click "Choose file" to the right of the relevant payment type and find your definition files via your File Explorer.
- Finish by clicking ”Save settings”.
About definition files
The field "Common format" is not always used. If you have a file named ”Fælles.def” or ”Generel.def”, you must refer to this file in the "Common format" field under "Path and name of definition files”. The common file describes the data that are common for all payment types. Therefore, the contents of the common file may be included in the various definition files for the payment types and will, in this case, not be used.
The next fields are payment types. These fields must contain a path for the definition file of the selected payment type, in order for you to be able to import this type of payment. This means that you do not need to insert definition files for payment types that you will not be using. Example: If you have only selected the definition files for "Bank Denmark" and "Indbetalingskort (Pay bills)”, you will not be able to import a file containing wages or international payments.
Import a payment file
- In order to import your first payment file, you will now have to select "Import/Export file" > "Import - Old" in the menu.
- Click on ”Choose file” and find your payment file via the emerging File Explorer.
- Once your payment file is displayed in the field, click "Show settings". Now select the correct date format and specify how many decimals you use in the payments amount field. Also, tick off the definition files displayed. The system will remember your selections, meaning you will only have to do this the first time.
- Now you are ready to click on ”Import file” at the top right.
Check and approve the outcome
Once the file has been imported, you can check the outcome. Do this by clicking the button "See imported payments".
Now you will see a list of files imported (also called "Batches") for the last month. The list is ordered by the most recent files at the top. Now you have an overview of the number of payments that have been imported and the total sum of them all.
Also, it allows you to check whether your files contain any erroneous or stopped payments and how many payments are awaiting approval.
On the right-hand side of the file specification, you will see a number of different icons:
- "Approve" allows you to approve all payments contained in the file that are awaiting approval.
- "Stop" allows you to stop payments.
- “Note” allows you to see when the file was imported and which steps have been completed in the validation process of this file. This is primarily used in the event of an error.
If you need to see the individual payments contained in a batch, simply click on any random spot in the batch displayed. Now you will see each individual payment and will be able to process them one by one.
The next time you need to import a payment file, you can go directly to "Import - Old" under "Import/Export file” and select the most recent payment file.
