How do I set up a new power of attorney in Jyske Online Banking Business

If you are an administrator, you can set up a new power of attorney in Jyske Online Banking Business. Click "Administration" in the menu and select "Powers of Attorney".

About power of attorney

A power of attorney grants specific viewing and/or payment rights to particular companies or accounts. Meaning, all users covered under a power of attorney (PoA) hold the rights defined in the PoA. Hence, it is essential that you set up a PoA for each specific “type” of employee, so that it is specifically defined what the user is authorised to do in Jyske Online Banking Business.

NOTE! A user can only be included in one power of attorney.

How to do this

  1. Log in to Jyske Online Banking Business (guide).
  2. Click "Administration" in the menu.
  3. Then select “Powers of Attorney”. You can now see the existing powers of attorney.
  4. Click "Create new power of attorney" at the top of the screen to create a new power of attorney.

Name of the power of attorney

  1. Name the power of attorney. For clarity, the name should indicate the rights granted to users in this power of attorney, such as "Accounting" or "Secondary Approvers" — or even the name of a specific user.

Users

  1. Click "Select agents" and tick off any relevant persons who should be covered under this power of attorney.
  2. Click “OK” to complete the selection of users

Account rights

  1. Click "Select rights to accounts" to select which rights for which accounts the users covered under this power of attorney must be assigned. You will now see a list of the companies for which you can assign a power of attorney. The first company on the list is open.
  2. Select "All present and future accounts", if you don’t want to limit which accounts users covered under this power of attorney will be able to access. Users will then automatically have access to any new accounts that are created in the future.

Existing and future accounts

  1. Make sure you only register rights in the top line (which has a grey background). By using this line, no additional selections are required in the lines below.

Only existing accounts

  1. Register the rights in line 2 that apply to all existing accounts if you do not currently want to make a decision about future accounts.

Specific accounts

  1. Assign rights next to the relevant accounts if certain users should only have access to specific accounts.

Rights

  1. Indicate whether the user in this power of attorney should have inquiry access (to view account transactions, for example), if they may initiate payments, and what authorization they should have for approving payments.
  2. Click the "i" next to "Approve payments" in the power of attorney window for an explanation of the authorization options.

Transfers between own accounts

  1. If you assign approval authorization B, C or D, you will see an option to the right where you can mark that the users can transfer between their own accounts without requiring another user's approval. Check this box if you want to avoid requiring a second approver for internal transfers.

Numerous companies

  1. If you have more than one company, you must open each company separately and grant users the appropriate rights, just like you did for the first company. Click "+" on the left side of the company name in order to open the details of a company.
  2. Click “OK” to complete the granting of account rights.

Rights to custody accounts

  1. Click "Select rights to custody accounts" to assign rights for custody accounts under each company. Here you must also open each company separately and indicate whether a user may make inquiries for “all present and future custody accounts”, “present custody accounts” or “specific custody accounts.

Securities trading

  1. If your administrator agreement allows, you may also grant users a power of attorney to trade securities. Please note that all securities trades are always subject to the verification from one user only. Click “OK” to complete the granting of custody account rights.

Approve power of attorney

  1. Click "Approve and activate", if you are authorised to create and approve powers of attorney on your own.
  1. Alternatively, click "Save and send for approval" on the right side (available at both the top and bottom of the page if two administrators need to approve the powers of attorney).
  2. Now, inform the administrator who will second-approve the power of attorney you just created.

Second approval of power of attorney

  1. Find the box "For approval" at the top-centre of the entry page (clicking the Jyske Bank logo at the top-left corner will take you to the entry page).
  2. Click "Powers of attorney " (the link is only displayed when one or more powers of attorney is/are awaiting approval). All powers of attorney awaiting final approval will now be displayed.
  3. Click on one of the listed powers of attorney and make sure the appropriate rights have been assigned for each company.
  4. Click "Approve and activate" to the right (available at both the top and bottom of the screen). The modification will take effect as soon as the power of attorney has been approved, and the result is visible for the users when they log in to Jyske Online Banking Business again.
